[Abandoned] Controlling conditional formatting using checkboxes

I have decided to abandon the task of controlling the conditional formatting using checkboxes as it seems impossible to do so in excel 2007. There may be a way but as time is running out for the completion of the system, I fear I will not have time to test it (although there is a testing phase later in the year) or correct any glitches it may pose.
It's a shame really. Adding a function like that would of just increased it's uniqueness to other peoples system. I will not stop searching yet as there may be a way to do it but as outlined before, it may be too late to implement it.

Conditional Formatting on Checkbox Cells

Happy New year to everyone.
Since Christmas and The new year have past, and since I have one more week in which to finish the system with the data entered, I'm back to work on it. I was just taking a rest haha.
Well now, I'm trying to think of a way to create a validation rule which will be controlled by a checkbox cell. See, what I'm trying to do is get a cell to change to red if a checkbox is not ticked or green if it is (for a payment record system). However, I have two checkbox fields right next to each other which will open a window of oppotunity for human error (common mistake to tick the wrong box and think that the rule is broken or something). I know I'm not making it very clear but all will come to light once I find a way to get conditional formatting on checkboxes

Sheet Switching Macro Bug

I seem to have stumbled upon an excel bug which stops my sheet switching macros from working. If I hide the tab which leads to the sheet, the macro which links to that sheet also stops working. I do not have any apparent knowledge of how to resolve this issue unless there is a different code somewhere which can keep the macros working even when the sheet tab has been hidden

Checkbox creation

Currently, I am looking for a way to insert checkboxes into excel and use them as a form of conditional formatting for one of my worksheets. I'm still looking for a way to do this. A bit of VB coding will be neccessary, buti t will take some time finding a suitable code

CLEANUP - EDIT: It is possible through excel to get checkboxes. You have to get into the options and tick the "Show Developer tab in ribbon" box. Through the developer box, you can do a few more expert features, including adding checkboxes. Unfortunately, I can't use any of the other features do to my novice knowledge and the checkboxes don't move when you increase/decrease the cell since you can't embed them into the cells.
It would of been great if you could embbed checkboxes into cells but manually moving them works just as well. Takes a hell of a long time but still works

Drop Down-List Creation

I find that the drop down list creation in Excel 2007 is very irritating. To create the options, I have to put them somewhere and then use them as a source. Deleting the cell with this Source Data is held clears out the options. The way around this is to put this source data somewhere out of the main page but then I have random words in the middle of nowhere in the dataspace.

CLEANUP - EDIT: I found a method with works just as well. Type the data you want in the drop down list somewhere which your not going to use (not too far away from your data or else when you print, your gonna have a load of blank papers and a very small data area) and then, change the font colour to match your background.
Presto, your drop down options are there when you click the arrow but no where to be seen on your workplace

"ThisWorkbook.Close" Excel Error

The "ThisWorkbook.Close" line under the "ActiveWorkbook.Save" seems to work for al imited time. After a few tries, the error comes back and keeps coming. The only resolution is to add the "Application.Quit" line although it closes ALL active workbooks. It must be a replacement until I am able to find a way around this

Save & Exit VB Code

I've finally got a code which saves and exits the excel worksheet without an error. All I had to do was use a close command after the save command (for a macro I had already created which saved the system)
Now the macro saves and exits the workbook with no problems.
Onto creating the fields!
